Thirty-five years at the heart of the ingredients, citrus and flavour & fragrance industries. Eleven as CEO of a London-listed business.
Dr Daemmon Reeve's career spans 35 years at the heart of the ingredients, citrus and flavour & fragrance industries. Before becoming CEO of Treatt plc, he spent a decade leading purchasing — building the deep supplier relationships, market intelligence and commercial judgement that would later define his leadership style as CEO.
As Group CEO of Treatt plc for eleven years, he led one of the most sustained transformations in the modern ingredients sector: strategic repositioning, the relocation of UK operations, and significant international expansion. That included six years based in Lakeland, Florida as CEO of Treatt USA — where he doubled the facility size and grew both revenue and profit substantially. Across the group: revenue doubled, profit before tax quadrupled, market capitalisation grew tenfold.
Today he works with ingredients companies, private equity firms and family offices as a non-executive director, strategic adviser and chair — operating from the UK with an extensive international network. He is an active IFEAT member and an investor and NED at Reingredia — a B2B live trading platform for speciality commodity ingredients, launching later 2026.
Independent board contribution for ingredients, citrus and F&F businesses — bringing the perspective of someone who has sat in the executive chair and understands what good governance actually looks like in practice. Particularly useful during periods of growth, transition or strategic change.
Retained counsel for owners and leadership teams thinking through where the business should go next. Market positioning, portfolio decisions, international expansion, competitive response — grounded in 35 years of doing this, not just advising on it.
Commercial and operational assessment for acquirers, investors and advisers looking at ingredients or citrus transactions. The kind of insight that only comes from knowing the sector intimately — understanding what the numbers don't show and what questions to ask management.
Practical support for PE firms and family offices with ingredients or F&F assets. Helping identify opportunities, assess management, add value post-acquisition and think clearly about exit. Access to a network built over decades in the sector.
A decade leading purchasing at Treatt plc built a foundation of supplier relationships, market intelligence and commercial discipline that few advisers can match. Daemmon brings this depth to clients navigating complex buying decisions, supplier negotiations, raw material strategy and cost management across the ingredients and citrus sectors.
Deep, current knowledge of global citrus supply, processor relationships and pricing dynamics — including the structural shift towards supply chain disintermediation. Daemmon advises businesses on where value is shifting, how relationships between growers, processors and buyers are evolving, and how to position ahead of the change.
A new capability within the consultancy. Through a network of senior industry practitioners with over 50 years of combined hands-on experience, clients can access support spanning the full spectrum — from boardroom strategy to day-to-day operational and technical problem-solving.
Those who remember the Florida hurricanes of 2004/5 — which devastated what was then an important grapefruit crop — understand the risk of citrus oil markets becoming too expensive. Reformulation inevitably followed.
Historically high prices for cold-pressed orange oil and the disconnect with the citrus terpene market led to folds and fractions suffering significant reformulation and substitution.
"Predictable, if you have the insight and experience to see it coming."
When Daemmon became CEO of Treatt plc, he inherited a London-listed ingredients business with a strong heritage and a clear opportunity for transformation. What followed over eleven years was exactly that — a deliberate repositioning of the entire business, not incremental improvement but fundamental strategic change.
Before becoming Group CEO, Daemmon spent a decade leading purchasing at Treatt — developing the supplier relationships and market intelligence that informed his strategic thinking throughout his tenure. As CEO, UK operations were relocated, the American business in Lakeland, Florida was significantly expanded, and the group moved decisively away from commodity processing towards proprietary, application-led ingredients.
After Daemmon retired from Treatt, I wanted him to join our advisory board because of his exceptional knowledge of the citrus and flavor industry, his strategic vision, and his ability to build long-term trusted relationships across the global market. His deep understanding of both customers and suppliers makes him a valuable advisor for our future growth.
When we were establishing Reingredia, Daemmon was my number one target to get involved. We have known each other for over 30 years and, as well as his industry knowledge and experience, he is also one of the most respected and admired personalities within the F&F sector. He is an ardent professional, a team player and definitely someone you want on your side.
It's a very exciting time for us that the ex-CEO of Treatt plc, Daemmon Reeve, who did wonderful things at that company, has joined us to help with our future plans. Gerald McDonald is working alongside Daemmon as we continue to develop and grow the business, and we're really looking forward to what lies ahead.
Daemmon works with a small number of clients at any one time, bringing focused attention and genuine commitment to each engagement. If you are considering a board appointment, navigating a strategic question, or approaching a transaction where deep sector knowledge would make a material difference, he welcomes an initial conversation.
There is no obligation — simply a straightforward discussion about whether there is a worthwhile basis to work together.
